6mm Desert Italians  Reply with quote

The current H&R catalogue lists WW2 Italian infantry packs, but doesn't state whether they're desert infantry. Does anyone know if that's what they are?

If not, does any other company have them besides GHQ (and I guess Irregular)?

I have them and I must admit I didn't even ask myself the question, I just painted them desert dress. The most important is that the base is painted desert.

The helmet isn't tropical type, if that's what you ask.

If you want, I can take a few pics tomorow and post them here.

Francis, pictures would be great!

I notice Adler has Italians too, but in their case it's not the helmets that are the issue but rather what's underneath them...

GHQ italians are marvelous. They also have Bersaglieri models. I am seriously considering redoing my German/American/Soviet intantry in GHQ. They are that good.....

The GHQ Italians are good, except for the officers, who are wearing the pre-war kepi instead of a helmet or bustina. I like the Americans and Germans, which they now have two different packs of. Avoid the first of the two Soviet packs which include several poses of AK-47 armed infantry and all the figures have officers' map cases!

They could use a set of Italians in sun helmets, though...

That's because your computer knows you can't see 6mm figures. It then doesn't even bother to display the pics. Wink
